SEOUL, February 14. /TASS/. Kim Jong-nam, the elder half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, has been killed at Malaysia’s airport, Yonhap reported on Tuesday citing a government source.
South Korea’s Chosun TV channel reported that Kim Jong-nam was killed on Monday when two unidentified women attacked him with "poisoned needles." According to the report, the suspects fled the scene.
Kim Jong-nam is the eldest son of former North Korean leader Kim Jong-il. His mother was famous North Korean actress Song Hye Rim. He was widely considered to be the heir of his father, but later fell out of favor. Kim Jong-nam has been living abroad for many years, namely in Macau.
Malaysia’s police have not confirmed the death of Kim Jong-nam, Reuters reported. A Malaysian police spokesman said a North Korean citizen had been taken to a hospital by ambulance but he died while on the way. His body is being identified.
