MINSK, November 6. /TASS/. Alexander Lukashenko, winner of the Belarusian presidential election for the fifth successive time, was inaugurated at a ceremony on Friday.
"I swear to serve the people of the Republic of Belarus, respect and defend human and civil rights and freedoms, observe and protect the Belarusian Constitution and fulfill my high obligations solemnly and honestly," Lukashenko told the ceremony at the Independence Palace in the country’s capital, Minsk.
Lukashenko won a landslide election victory on October 11. He was first elected as Belarusian president in 1994.
