MOSCOW, February 8. /TASS/. An online meeting between representatives of Western countries and Russian opposition figures which was held in Poland’s permanent mission to the EU is continuation of their aggressive offensive against Russia, spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova said Monday.

"[Today], the Polish permanent mission to the EU in Brussels held an online meeting with representatives of the so-called Russian opposition, in particular [Leonid] Volkov and [Vladimir] Ashurkov. <…> There were not just Poland and EU countries there, there were more than 20 of them, the US and the UK included. There you go, this is what our so-called Western partners are doing, thereby continuing their absolutely illegal, wrongful and aggressive offensive against us," she stressed.

The spokeswoman recalled that Ashurkov was caught on camera discussing issues of "financing a number of projects, one of which is aimed at discrediting Russia’s banking system in favor or for the befit of British banks" in a video that was disseminated recently. "It is a series of self-incriminating acts by the West," she concluded.
