MOSCOW, May 22. /TASS/. Russia says arms race in the space is not acceptable and welcomes activities of BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) in that direction, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said at the opening of the BRICS Academic Forum on Friday.
The diplomat said on Thursday, May 21, BRICS delegations participated in consultations on security in space.
"Russia is for unacceptable arms race in the space," the deputy foreign minister said, adding Russia’s initiative was not to be the first to deploy arms in the space. "We are deeply satisfied this work at BRICS not only has a positive feedback, but also is reflected in the documents, we have signed with all the member states.".
