An ambassador says China’s top legislator may visit Russia in 2019

MOSCOW, December 27. /TASS/. Chairman of the Standing Committee of China’s National People's Congress Li Zhanshu plans to visit Russia in 2019 but there are no final dates yet, Chinese Ambassador to Russia Li Hui said at a meeting with Russian Federation Council (the upper house of parliament) Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Konstantin Kosachev on Thursday.

"The chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress will visit [Russia] next year, but no dates have been determined yet," the ambassador said.

"We would also like you to take the time and make a visit," Li Hui added, addressing Kosachev.

The Chinese ambassador pointed out that cooperation between Beijing and Moscow "has progressed a lot." "We believe that our relations are going through the best period in history," he added.

According to Li Hui, the two countries’ lawmakers contribute much to strengthening strategic partnership between China and Russia. He highlighted the Chinese embassy’s determination to maintain close cooperation with Russian parliament members.
