Moldova’s president to attend EAEU summit in December

CHISINAU, November 5. /TASS/. Moldovan President Igor Dodon plans to attend the next summit of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in December as the country has been granted an observer status at the Union.

"I received an invitation to take part in the EAEU summit which takes place in December," Dodon said at a news conference summing up the results of his official visit to Russia last week.

"Cooperation within the CIS [the Commonwealth of Independent States, an assembly of post-Soviet states] and the EAEU is crucial for our country", Dodon said.

The heads of EAEU member countries voted unanimously to grant an observer status to Moldova at the Sochi summit on May 14.
