A report delivered by the World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA) Independent Commission and its chairman Richard McLaren speaks for an unprecedented attack on the world of sports and its integrity, Thomas Bach, the president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), said on Friday.

"Professor McLaren’s completed report demonstrates a fundamental attack on the integrity of sport," IOC President Bach said commenting on the report.

"For me as an Olympian, any athlete or an official, who took part in such sophisticated manipulation system should be excluded for life from any participation in the Olympic Games in whatever capacity," Bach added.

In his Part 2 report on Friday, McLaren stated that an unprecedented system to cover up doping abuse cases of athletes has been in effect in Russia over the recent years. According to the report, over 1,000 Russian athletes competing in summer, winter and Paralympic sports could have been involved in the manipulations system to conceal positive doping tests.

"This systematic and centralized cover up and manipulation of the doping control process evolved and was refined over the course of its use at London 2012 Summer Games, Universiade Games 2013, Moscow IAAF World Championships 2013, and the Winter Games in Sochi in 2014," the report said.

Reuters news agency reported that IOC President Bach ordered his international committee to take for re-analysis all doping samples of Russian athletes collected at the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London.

"Following Professor (Richard) McLaren's findings, I have also today extended the mandate of the disciplinary commission to test all samples of all Russian athletes having participated in the Olympic Games London 2012," the agency quoted Bach as saying.

According to Friday’s report from McLaren, Russia’s 15 medal winners of the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London took banned performance enhancing drugs.

"Fifteen Russian medal winners were identified out of the 78 on the London Washout List," the report stated. "Ten of these athletes have now had their medals stripped."

The WADA Independent Commission and its chairman McLaren released its first report on July 18 on the results of its probe into the accusations of doping and manipulation of tests by Russian athletes and officials at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games.

According to the details, the commission claimed it had found evidence that Russia’s Sports Ministry and the Center for the Training of Russian National Teams and the Federal Security Service had covered up a doping program in Russian sports.

The report from WADA’s Commission stated in particular that the commission’s investigation registered a total of 643 cases of Disappearing Positive Test Results in Russia between 2012 and 2015 involving athletes from 30 sports.

Following the commission’s report, WADA recommended the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and all international sports federations ban Russian athletes from all international sports competitions, including Rio 2016.
