ROSTOV-ON-DON, December 7. /TASS/. Court has ordered rapper Basta to pay 50,000 rubles ($781) in compensation to a fellow rap artist, Detsl, for hurling insults at him on social media, a TASS correspondent reported from the courtroom.

Kirill Tolmatsky, (professionally known as Detsl) demanded that Vasily Vakulenko (Basta) pay him 1 million rubles (over $15,000) in compensation and issue a public apology for calling him "a mop-haired creep" on his Twitter account.

The spat erupted this past summer after Tolmatsky tweeted a complaint about loud music coming from Basta’s night club located in downtown Moscow some 500 meters from his house.

"Hip-hop culture allows using such expressions," Vakulenko told the court.

He also said he was not planning to file an appeal against the court ruling.
