MOSCOW, August 8. /TASS/. A total of 39 wildfires on the total area of 411 hectares across Russia have been put out over the past 24 hours, the aerial forest protection service Avialesokhrana reported on Monday.
The firefighting effort involved 1,211 people, 122 pieces of equipment and 23 aircraft.
As of Sunday, 50 wildfires were raging on the area of 8,411 hectares in Russia. Major fires were reported in the Krasnoyarsk Territory (Siberia), the Far Eastern Magadan Region and the republic of Buryatia.
