Anatoly Chubais was appointed to the position on December 4, 2020

MOSCOW, March 25. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree to relieve Anatoly Chubais of his post as a special presidential representative for relations with international organizations for achievement of sustainable development goals, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told TASS on Friday.

"A decree to relieve Anatoly Chubais of his position has been signed by the president," Peskov said.

Chubais was appointed to the position on December 4, 2020. In that capacity, he wasn’t a government employee and wasn’t part of the Kremlin staff, Peskov told TASS earlier.

In 2015, UN member states adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It contains goals aimed at eradicating poverty, conserving the planet's resources and ensuring prosperity for all. Each of the 17 sustainable development goals includes a number of indicators to be achieved within 15 years. According to UN estimates, to achieve them will require from $3.3 trillion to $4.5 trillion a year.
