Syria experiencing revival of tourism, notes Russian top brass

The main cultural heritage sites in the Syrian town of Busra al-Sham are already welcoming tourists

MOSCOW, December 11. /TASS/. The main cultural heritage sites in the Syrian town of Busra al-Sham are already welcoming tourists, Head of the Russian National Defense Management Center Colonel General, Mikhail Mizintsev, said on Tuesday.

"It is revealing that tourism is being revitalized in the country. For example, the main cultural heritage sites in Busra al-Sham are open to tourists thanks to the support of the Syrian Ministry of Culture. The local administration hopes for an early resumption of the tourist flow to the Deraa province that was liberated from the gangs of armed outlaws," Mizintsev told a joint meeting of the interdepartmental coordination of the Russian and Syrian headquarters for the return of refugees.

"This is the reality that no one, especially our opponents, can hide no matter how much they want to. After all, the main result of the year, the first year of a peaceful existence, is that Syrian citizens are returning to their homes, where they can see with their own eyes that the war is over, and the country’s revival is in full swing," he stressed.
