MOSCOW, April 12. /TASS/. An astronaut from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) who will be sent to the International Space Station (ISS) in September will carry out experiments using Russian and US equipment, Roscosmos Executive Director of Manned Programs Sergei Krikalyov told TASS.

"Now it’s too late for the UAE to manufacture its own specialized equipment for new experiments, by they can take part in the ongoing experiments. They’ll be using both Russian and US equipment," he explained.

According to the official, the experiments will be conducted together with Russian and other scientists.

The UAE astronaut’s flight to the ISS is scheduled for September 25. Currently, there are two Emirati nationals prepping for the flight in the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center, namely Hazza Al Mansouri and Sultan Al Neyadi.
