PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY, April 2. /TASS/. All sixty-three survivors have been evacuated on board a ship after a Russian trawler sank off the Kamchatka peninsula on Thursday, officials in Russia’s Far East said.

"Sixty-three survivors have been evacuated to the Andromeda ship from vessels that picked them up out of the water. The bodies of victims are now being taken on board. Some 38 bodies out of 56 have been handed over so far," a spokesman for the Emergencies Ministry’ regional department told TASS.

Sixty-three people, ten of them in a very grave condition, have been rescued after the Dalny Vostok fishing vessel sank in the Sea of Okhotsk. Thirteen are still unaccounted for.

Rescue teams searching for missing crew members have suspended operations until Friday morning and will resume the search early in the morning.

The Dalny Vostok freezer trawler with132 people on board went down about 330 kilometres west of Krutogorovsky settlement in the Kamchatka region and 250 kilometres south of the city of Magadan.

The home port of the trawler, which was owned by Magellan LLC, was Nevelsk in Russia's Sakhalin region.
