GROZNY, December 28. /TASS/. The Chechen people is ready to defend Russia’s interests and safeguard its border, Head of Russia’s North Caucasian Republic of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov said on Sunday.
“America and Europe have declared an economic war on Russia. They are seeking to spread chaos, panic and mass upheavals,” he said at a meeting with the republic’s law enforcers at the Sultan Belimkhanov stadium in Grozny. “But the Russian people has united around its leader Vladimir Putin, and the Chechen people plays a central role in this unity.”
“Putin has been helping our people for fifteen years. Now we ask the Russian leader to consider us a voluntary corps of the supreme commander-in-chief ready to defend Russia, its stability, borders and fulfill any tasks of any degree of complexity,” Kadyrov said.
Later on Sunday, Kadyrov wrote on his official page in social networks that he had staged a surprise check of the alertness of the republic’s law enforcement agencies. “More than 15,000 clad in full combat outfits arrived at the stadium by the appointed time. All of them earlier signed affirmations that they are ready to defend Russia’s legal interests,” he noted, adding that this meeting was another proof of high morals and patriotism of Chechen servicemen.
