MOSCOW, December 8. /TASS/. Federal Passenger Company, a unit of Russian Railways, has cancelled passenger trains to several CIS countries, including Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan from Sunday for a year due to a low profitability, a representative for the company told PRIME Monday.
“The decision to cancel the trains was made as part of adjusting the 2014-2015 schedule due to low profitability,” the representative said.
Previously, the schedule for passenger trains was imposed in summer, but from now on it will be done in December. “But the schedule’s route remains, so a train can be added, if needed,” the representative said, adding that trains to Belarus, Uzbekistan, Moldova and Abkhazia were not cancelled.
