Russia’s unemployment grows by 1% - Russian federal statistics service

Around 4.2 million people or 5.6% of economically active population classified as unemployed

MOSCOW, March 20. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia’s unemployment grew in February by 1.2% compared January, the Russian federal statistics service, Rosstat, said on Thursday.

According to a sample survey on employment problems, around 4.2 million people or 5.6% of economically active population were classified as unemployed.

State employment services registered 1 million people as unemployed, 0.8 million among them received unemployment benefits.
