Two civilians killed in suicide attack, three injured in Afghanistan

CAIRO, July 16. /ITAR-TASS /. As a result of a suicide attack in eastern Afghanistan today two civilians were killed and three persons were wounded. According to a spokesman of Nangarhar province police, a suicide bomber on a bicycle has detonated an explosive device in a crowded street of the city of Jalalabad, the administrative center of the province.

The authorities hold responsible for the attack militants of the radical Islamist movement Taliban who are active in Nangarhar.

According to the NATO command, in the east of the country today also took place an armed attack that led to the death of a serviceman of the Alliance.

According to the UN mission in Kabul, in the first half of the year as a result of terrorist attacks in Afghanistan have been killed and injured at least 2.5 thousand civilians.
