BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Brunei, July 2 (Itar-Tass) -The United States agrees that the main goal now is to consolidate the Syrian opposition, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said after his talks with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry on Tuesday, July 2.

Lavrov and Kerry exchanged views on the results of the June 25 meeting in Geneva, which focused on organising an international conference on Syria.

“It [the meeting] was quite useful. We agreed how to proceed further. Americans agree that the main goal now is to consolidate the [Syrian] opposition,” Lavrov said.
