Russia's upper house names first US media likely to be denied access to parliament

Voice of America, Radio Free Europe and Current Time TV may be the first US media likely to lose access to Russia's Federation Council

MOSCOW, December 4. /TASS/. At a session on December 15, the Federation Council upper house of Russian parliament is likely to establish ban on entering its headquarters for the reporters working for a number of US media outlets, Dr. Alexei Pushkov, the chairman of the house's media policy commission told TASS on Monday.

"I think the Federation Council will have the same kind of procedure as the State Duma [lower house of parliament]," he said.

"We'll have the next session on December 15 and, in all evidence, we'll have considered the issue [of restricting the right to enter for the building for U.S. media] by that time."
