Russian-Chinese relations at ‘excellent level of strategic partnership’ — PM Medvedev

This enables Russian and China to forward new projects and implement new ambitious tasks, the prime minister said

SOCHI, December 1. /TASS/. The frequency of Russian-Chinese contacts at different levels shows a high quality of bilateral relations, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said.

"We met three times during the last month. The first time was in your homeland, the second time at the East Asia Summit in mid-November, and in late November you came to Sochi. This frequency of meetings and communication shows that our relations are at an excellent level of strategic partnership and far-reaching cooperation," Medvedev said on Friday at a meeting with Premier of China’s State Council Li Keqiang. He noted that meetings are held at the highest level as well. "All of this enables us to forward new projects and implement new ambitious tasks that correspond to the high level of our relations," the Russian prime minister said.

He invited Li Keqiang and Chinese fans to the FIFA World Cup that Russia will host the next year.

Li Keqiang, for his part, congratulated Medvedev on the successful organization of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (OCS). "I’ve got a feeling that this is the most successful meeting I attended in the recent years," the Chinese Council of State premier said. The SCO Council of Heads of Government was held in Sochi under Medvedev’s chairmanship from November 30 to December 1.
