MOSCOW, November 26. /TASS/. Certain other countries can approach Russia with a proposal to use their military bases, First Deputy Chairman of the Defense and Security Committee of Russia’s Federation Council Frants Klintsevich told TASS.

"I think more and more countries will become interested in near future and will approach Russia to present their military bases. From my point of view, the number of such proposals will grow shortly. Nevertheless, the decision remains with our president," Klintsevich said.

No agreements on the base in Sudan have been reached yet "but such perspective is possible," the senator said. "Certainly, this decision can only be made by the president. We must understand that Russia views its security and global presence very seriously and such a base in Sudan will not be redundant - this is definite, considering our mutual relations. We should address developed circumstances," he added.

It was reported earlier Sudan negotiated assistance in upgrading its armed forces with the Russian Defense Ministry.
