Spokeswoman urges Western media to stop drawing 'rose-colored' picture of Mosul

More than 56,000 people have fled the city, Zakharova stated

MOSCOW, November 17. /TASS/. Western mass media keep ignoring the real situation in Mosul, which is degrading to an ever greater extent, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Thursday.

"The humanitarian situation in Mosul is degrading. More than 56,000 people have fled the city and its environs over the past month," Zakharova said.

"Western partners and the media resources they control are drawing a rose-colored picture of what is really happening there."
