MOSCOW, September 20. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov met on Tuesday with Secretary General of the Arab League Ahmed Abu Ghaith to discuss further collective efforts towards settlement of conflicts in the Middle East and North Africa, the Russian foreign ministry said.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 71st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
"The sides exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East and North Africa with a focus on the necessity of further collective efforts towards political and diplomatic settlement of the crisis situations in the region," the ministry said. "They also touched upon certain practical aspects of cooperation between Russia and the Arab League, including preparations for the fourth session of the Russian-Arab Cooperation Forum.".
