Medvedev discusses Chinese premier’s upcoming visit to Russia

The heads of governments are taking part in the opening East Asia summit in Laos

VIENTIANE, September 8. /TASS/. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has held a meeting with Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Keqiang.

The heads of government are taking part in the opening East Asia summit in Laos on Thursday.

Medvedev and Li Keqiang discussed bilateral relations and also the preparation for the Chinese premier’s upcoming visit to Russia.

The East Asia Summit (EAS) is a forum for dialogue among the leaders of Asia-Pacific nations on political and economic issues. The first summit was held in 2005. The EAS unites a total of 18 countries - 10 members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and their dialogue partners: Russia, Australia, India, China, New Zealand, South Korea, the United States and Japan.
