MOSCOW, August 13. /TASS/. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has congratulated Fidel Castro on his 90th birthday over the telephone, the government’s press service said on Saturday.

Medvedev noted Castro’s "outstanding achievements for Cuba and for the international community, great personal contribution to developing traditionally friendly relations and alliance between Russia and Cuba."

Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier sent a congratulatory telegram to the leader of the Cuban revolution Fidel Castro.
