MOSCOW, December 3. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart Donald Trump did not discuss a possible visit of the Russian leader to Washington during their brief contact in Buenos Aires on the sidelines of the G20 summit, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Monday.

"No, this [possibility of this visit] was not discussed," Peskov said.

After the G20 summit in Argentina’s capital on November 30-December 1, Putin told reporters that he had a brief conversation with Trump ‘on the go." Putin said he briefly answered Trump’s questions on the Black Sea incident [the provocation of Ukraine’s warships in the Kerch Strait]. Speaking on the prospects of a full-fledged contact with his US counterpart, Putin said he hoped this meeting took place as soon as the US side was ready for that.

On November 25, three warships of the Ukrainian Navy violated the rules of passage through Russia's territorial waters while en route from the Black Sea to the Azov Sea. The Russian side had to use weapons to compel the ships to stop. Three Ukrainian servicemen were lightly wounded. They received medical assistance. The ships were detained and escorted to the port of Kerch. A criminal case was launched on border violation charges.

Moscow described the incident as a provocation. The Ukrainian authorities declared martial law. The EU and NATO called for de-escalation of the situation.
