"No special meetings are planned," Lavrov added

AKTAU, August 11. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani can talk to each other at the summit in Kazakhstan’s Aktau, although no special meetings between them are planned, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told reporters following ministerial meeting of the five Caspian states (Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Iran and Azerbaijan).

"All five presidents will be in one place at the same time. Of course, they will talk to each other," the Russian minister said answering a question on a possible meeting.

"No special meetings are planned," Lavrov added.

The fifth Caspian summit will be held in Aktau on August 12. It is expected that its principal result will be the signing of the Convention on the legal status of the Caspian Sea. The Caspian states’ foreign ministers gathered there in the run-up to the summit to discuss the completion of preparations for it.
