MOSCOW, December 7. /TASS/. The Kaspersky Lab registered 96,000 new versions of computer viruses in 2017, which is a twofold increase in comparison with the previous year, the company’s antivirus expert Anton Ivanov said at a conference on the results of the year.
According to him, in 2017 Kaspersky Lab managed to prevent more than 1 billion cyberattacks, which exceeds the result of 2016 by more than 30%. Also the company recorded a decrease in the number of malicious attacks.
The main problem of the outgoing year is the global epidemic of cryptoware, such viruses as Wannacry, Experter. As a result hundreds of thousands of computers were infected around the world, the expert said.
