MOSCOW, November 1. /TASS/. The first domestically produced liquefied natural gas (LNG) production unit may be tested in 2020. Such statement is made in the research and development outlook of Russian fuel and energy sector branches by 2035, approved by Energy Minister Alexander Novak.
"Commercial tests of an LNG production unit based on a domestic technology with mixed coolant are intended to be held by 2020," the document says.
According to the outlook, the years of 2018-2020 will see completion of development of domestic production technologies for main heat exchanging equipment, LNG storage and transportation equipment, including tubular type cryogenic heat exchanging equipment, cryogenic tanks for transportation, cryogenic pumps, flexible cryogenic piping for LNG carriage and cryogenic pipelines with vacuum screen and vacuum insulation for LNG carriage.
Production technologies of ice-rated LNG carriers, new marine engines and floating facilities may be completed and put into production not earlier than 2035.
