Russia’s inflation hits 11.4% in 2014 — Rosstat

Russia’s consumer prices grew by 2.6% in December this year, the State Statistics Service said

MOSCOW, December 31. /TASS/. Russia’s inflation reached an estimated 11.4% in 2014, the State Statistics Service (Rosstat) said on Wednesday.

Russia’s consumer prices grew by 2.6% in December this year, Rosstat said.

Russia’s inflation reached 6.5% in 2013 and 0.5% in December last year.

Russia’s food prices increased by 15.4%, the prices of non-food products grew by 8.1% and service charges went up by 10.5% in 2014, Rosstat data showed.

Final data on the consumer price index in December 2014 based on the monthly monitoring of prices across a full range of goods and services (506 types) will be released on January 12, 2015.

Economic Development Minister Alexey Ulyukayev said earlier inflation in 2015 would amount to about 10%. “We’ll have 10% inflation in 2015, December on December,” he said.

The economy minister said double-digit inflation would remain in Russia throughout 2015.
