Gazprom starts connecting two main gas pipelines

The Eastern Gas Supply System project provides for comprehensive development of gas transport facilities in Eastern Russia, the company said

MOSCOW, March 21. /TASS/. Gazprom has initiated the connection of the Power of Siberia and the Sakhalin-Khabarovsk-Vladivostok gas pipelines as part of implementation of the Eastern Gas Supply System project, the Russian gas holding said.

"Gazprom is currently implementing the top-priority stage of the project. It provides for the connection of the Power of Siberia and the Sakhalin-Khabarovsk-Vladivostok main gas pipelines in service. Construction of the Belogorsk - Khabarovsk segment of the Eastern Gas Supply System has started for this purpose in 2024. Its length will be over 800 km. Furthermore, front end engineering design work is underway for other segments," the company informed.

The Eastern Gas Supply System project provides for comprehensive development of gas transport facilities in Eastern Russia and their further integration with the gas infrastructure in the western part of the country, Gazprom said.
