Russian, Indian Railways ink memorandum of cooperation

The document was signed on the sidelines of the Russian-Indian business forum

NEW DELHI, October 5. /TASS/. Russian Railways and Indian Railways signed a memorandum of cooperation contemplating establishment of a joint operator for freight transportation in the North - South corridor.

The document was signed on the sidelines of the Russian-Indian business forum.

The memorandum covers development and supply of supervisory control systems, automatic systems, examination and preparation of documents on organizing freight transportation, First Deputy CEO of Russian Railways Alexander Misharin said earlier.

The arrangement will make it possible to significantly increase transportation and transit of goods from India to Europe and back through Russia, Misharin said.
