Peruvian Airlines eyes buying Russia's SSJ-100, MC-21 airplanes

The company plans to set up a subsidiary to operate SSJ-100 passenger jets

FARNBOROUGH, July 16. /TASS/. Russia’s Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (SCA) and Peruvian Airlines signed an agreement of intent to purchase 10 SSJ-100 and 10 MC-21 passenger jets, TASS reports on Monday from the signing ceremony.

Documents were signed by GSS President Alexander Rubtsov and CEO of Peruvian Airlines Cesar Catano.

Peruvian Airlines plans to set up a subsidiary to operate SSJ-100 passenger jets, Chief Executive of the airline Cesar Catano told TASS.

"It will be a subsidiary named Aero Peru," Catano said. "It is planned to be established in 2020s," he added.

SSJ-100 is a regional passenger jet now in service in Russia, Mexico and Ireland. MC-21 is the medium-range airplane under development, with first supplies scheduled to 2019.
