Crimean leader backs idea of ferry line to Bulgaria

The issue was among projects discussed with the Bulgarian delegation during an economic forum in Crimea

YALTA, April 21. /TASS/. Crimean leader Sergei Aksyonov told reporters on Friday he favored the project of opening a ferry link between Crimea and Bulgaria’s main seaport of Burgas if the Bulgarian government backs the idea.

"If the Bulgarian government gives the go-ahead, then I will present this initiative to the government of the Russian Federation in order to have this ferry link opened. This was among issues discussed with the Bulgarian delegation today. If the Bulgarian government demonstrates readiness to accept those ferries, we will find variants of how to put this cooperation into practice," Aksyonov told reporters.

Crimea is hosting the 4th Yalta International Economic Forum, headlined "The world’s future. Russia’s future" from April 19 to 21, 2018. TASS is the forum’s strategic information partner and official photo hosting provider.
