Russian and Abkhazian servicemen take part in joint military drills

The drills were carried out at the Gudauta, Tsabal and Nagvalou Ranges in Abkhazia.

MOSCOW, April 29. /TASS/. About 3,000 Russian and Abkhazian servicemen took part in the drills that were held on the shore and in the mountains of Abkhazia, head of the press service of the Southern Military District Vadim Astafyev told journalists on Monday.

"About 3,000 servicemen took part in the exercise, and more than 400 vehicles were used, including Akatsiya self-propelled guns, Black Sea Fleet ships and helicopters from the fourth Air and Air Defense Army," he said.

The head of the press service specified that that the servicemen trained to fire on targets simulating buildings, helicopters, light-armored vehicles and the "enemy’s" manpower at a distance of 100 meters to 40 kilometers.

The drills were carried out at the Gudauta, Tsabal and Nagvalou Ranges in Abkhazia.
