Russia’s upgraded Tu-22M3 strategic missile-carrying bomber gets artificial intelligence

The Tu-22M3M is a modernized version of the Tu-22M3 long-range supersonic missile-carrying bomber with the variable-sweep wing

KAZAN, August 16. /TASS/. The modernized Tupolev Tu-22M3M strategic missile-carrying bomber has been furnished with artificial intelligence, Russia’s Long-Range Aviation Commander Lieutenant-General Sergei Kobylash said on Thursday.

"The capabilities of this aircraft are impressive and considerably surpass all similar foreign rivals. This plane has artificial intelligence," the commander said at the ceremony of rolling out the first upgraded bomber prototype.

The Tu-22M3M is a modernized version of the Tu-22M3 long-range supersonic missile-carrying bomber with the variable-sweep wing. During its upgrade, the bomber will get new avionics and a possibility to use new missiles.

As was reported earlier, 30 aircraft will be upgraded to the level of the Tu-22M3M.
