NALCHIK, June 3 (Itar-Tass) — A gunman who was on the federal Wanted List, was killed, while two accomplices of the criminal underworld who turned to be his parents, were wounded in a special operation in the Kabardino-Balkar Republic.
Two republican police officers were wounded, Itar-Tass learnt on Sunday at the republican special headquarters.
The special operation was conducted in a suburb of the city of Baxan, in a forest near the highway running to the village of Kremenchug-Konstantinovskoye. “A group of armed people with accomplices in a Volga car drove last night to the forest where the special operation was in progress,” the headquarters reported.
“When requested to surrender, they opened fire.” As a result, one gunman was killed, and the other fled to the forest.
According to preliminary data, the killed gunman was identified as Timur Lyauzhev, b. 1988, who was on the federal Wanted List since 2010, the headquarters also reported.
Law enforcement bodies have irrefutable evidence of Lyauzhev’s complicity in the murders of security officer Tlizamov in November 2010, in Baxan, Police Major Malukhov last January and Police Colonel Bogatyrev in June 2011 as well as an attempt on life of administration head of the Baxan district Khasan Sizhazhev last May.
Lyauzhev’s parents received gunshot wounds on Sunday in the armed clash and were hospitalized: 58-year-old Aslan and 54-year-old Rita Lyauzhevs who were accomplices of the crime underworld, providing for them covert transportation.
Law enforcers found at the place of the clash a Kalashnikov with five loaded magazines, a pistol with one magazine stolen from the place of the murder of the security officer, a grenade and two military camouflage uniforms.
A criminal case was instituted in connection with this fact under articles of the Russian Criminal Code “An attempt on life of law enforcers” and “Illicit arms trafficking”.
