A Moscow police officer shot at a man who tried to pry open a car who later died

MOSCOW, May 26 (Itar-Tass) — A Moscow police officer shot at a man who tried to pry open a car who later died, the press service of the Moscow police department reported.

A policeman who patrolled the 16th Parkovaya Street last night spotted at 02.45 an unidentified person who tried to pry open a car.

“When police officers came to the man, he hit the policeman on the head, dropped a lock-pick and tried to flee. The policeman decided to use his pistol and shot twice: first time in the air and the second at the escaping man and hit him into the back,” the press service noted.

An embulance was called to the place of the incident, however, medics were unable to save the man. The policeman was brought to a hospital with a brain concussion. The case is being investigated whether the policeman used lawfully his firearm.
