ULYANOVSK, May 12 (Itar-Tass) —— The Justice of the Peace Court in Ulyanovsk ruled to summon compulsorily to court a coordinator of the Left Front Sergei Udaltsov, who is accused of beating a journalist.

The court ruled that Udaltsov evades deliberately participating in the trial and ruled to bring him compulsorily to court at 08:00 Moscow time on May 16, a source in the court told Itar-Tass on Saturday.

At a court session on Saturday the lawyer asked to postpone the hearings over the fact that Udaltsov serves 15 days of administrative arrest for disobedience to police and was convicted on May 9 after the detention on the Patriarshiye Ponds in downtown Moscow. The oppositionists were seeking to hold a protesting indefinite gathering. The lawyer also told the court that the Left Front coordinator is participating in the investigative actions.

Meanwhile, the lawyer of the injured party stated that Udaltsov not turning up for the court sessions shows disrespect to the court and he should be brought there compulsorily.

The trial versus Udaltsov was launched on May 2. The court session on May 5 was postponed to May 12, because the oppositionist did not turn up in court, providing the copy of the sickness certificate.

On April 21, during the authorized anti-NATO rally in Ulyanovsk a 20-year-old local woman, who introduced herself as a free-lance correspondent of a media outlet, turned to the police with a petition about beating. The young woman said that Sergei Udaltsov, who participated in the action, inflicted bodily wounds to her.

An inquiry was conducted over her petition. The detectives found the event of crime in the actions of Udaltsov under Article 111 Part 1 for battery and other forcible actions. On April 23, the petition of the injured party and the materials of the inquiry were submitted in the Justice of the Peace court and the criminal case was opened.
