MOSCOW, May 9 (Itar-Tass) — Russian opposition blogger Alexei Navalny and Left Front coordinator Sergei Udaltsov will spend 15 days behind bars for disobeying police orders during Victory Day celebrations in Moscow.
Navalny was detained on Kudrinskaya Square near the Barrikadnaya metro station early on Wednesday morning while he was talking to people. He didn’t do anything unlawful. The blogger was detained for the fourth time in the last 24 hours.
Sergei Udaltsov was also detained in central Moscow. Like Navalny, he will spend 15 days in prison for unlawful actions.
Udaltsov has gone on dry hunger strike in protest against his detention. His lawyers have appealed against the court decision.
