Moscow subway watcher injured

Police are looking into the incident, they have retrieved CCTV recordings at the scene

MOSCOW, January 17 (Itar-Tass) — Two unidentified men beat up a subway watcher and fired a non-lethal gun on him at the Belarusskaya station on Monday, a city police spokesperson told Itar-Tass.

"The incident occurred at the Belarusskaya station, circular line at around 22:30, Moscow time," the police official said on Tuesday, "the subway watcher was injured in the back after drinking alcohol with two men."

"Two men, after drinking alcohol with the subway watcher who was not on duty, quarreled with him, whereupon they hit him several times and shot him in the back with a non-lethal gun," he added.

The victim was hospitalized. Police are looking into the incident. They have retrieved CCTV recordings at the scene.
