Ukraine authorities violate international humanitarian law — Russian commissioner
MOSCOW, June 04. /ITAR-TASS/. The authorities in Ukraine continue to violate the international humanitarian law, the Russian Foreign Ministry Human Rights Commissioner said.
“The events in the south-east are not an international armed conflict,” the ministry’s Commissioner for Human Rights, Democracy and the Supremacy of Law Konstantin Dolgov said on Wednesday.
The diplomat outlined the continuing violations of international law by the Ukrainian authorities, radicals and the Right Sector. “It is unclear how the country’s authorities can accept such situation. They grossly violate all international obligations,” Dolgov said. “The events in Luhansk and Sloviansk surpass all sad records,” he said.
Dolgov was speaking at a presentation of the White Book devoted to large-scale violations of human rights and unrests in Ukraine in late 2013 and early 2014.
