Four Iranian diplomats killed in Israeli strike on Beirut — Iranian envoy to UN
Amir-Saeid Iravani called the strike a deliberate terrorist attack
DOHA, March 10. /TASS/. Four Iranian diplomats perished as a result of an Israeli strike on Beirut, which occurred in the morning hours of March 8, Iranian Permanent Representative to the UN Amir-Saeid Iravani said.
"In the early hours of Sunday, 8 March 2026, the Israeli regime carried out a deliberate terrorist attack against the Ramada Hotel in Beirut, which resulted in the assassination and martyrdom of four diplomats of the Islamic Republic of Iran," he said in a letter to UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, obtained by TASS.
The United States and Israel launched a military operation against Iran on February 28. Major Iranian cities, including Tehran, were struck. The White House justified the attack by citing alleged missile and nuclear threats from Iran. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced a retaliatory operation, targeting sites in Israel. US military bases in Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE were also hit. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and some other key Iranian leaders were killed in the joint US-Israeli attack.
