An air alert has been declared across the entire country

MOSCOW, December 13. /TASS/. Ukraine’s entire energy system is at risk, the country’s Energy Minister German Galushchenko reported on Facebook (banned in Russia; owned by Meta Corporation, which is recognized as an extremist organization in Russia).

An air alert was declared across the entire country. It has now been lifted. A number of regions reported damage to infrastructure.

Air alert

- A nationwide air warning was declared. According to the official public alert service, it has now been lifted.

Explosion sites

- Explosions were reported in Kiev, Kremenchug, Kharkov, Ivano-Frankovsk, Sumy, and the Vinnitsa, Kiev, Lvov, Poltava, Odessa, Ternopol, Khmelnitsky, Kharkov, and Cherkasy regions.

Aftermath

- Preventive power outages have started in southern Ukraine in response to the explosions, according to Strana.

- Monitoring reports warn of risks to energy infrastructure, Strana added.

- There are reports of blackouts in the Lvov region and Odessa.

- In Odessa, electric transport and water supply came to a halt after the explosions.

- Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko said that energy infrastructure across the entire country was in grave danger.

- Ukrenergo announced the widening of the scale of electricity cuts. Three rounds of blackouts have been introduced, meaning there may be no power for up to 12 hours.

- Over 10 explosions were reported near the town of Burshtyn in the Ivano-Frankivsk region in western Ukraine, where the Burshtyn Thermal Power Plant is located.

- Emergency blackouts have been introduced in Kiev in response to explosions in a number of regions of the country, including the Kiev region.

- Half of Ukrainians have been left without electricity in the Ternopol region, the regional administration reported.

- Critical infrastructure facilities have been damaged in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, the head of the region's administration, Svetlana Onishchuk, said.

- Energy infrastructure facilities in the Lvov Region have been damaged, the head of the regional administration, Maxim Kozitsky, said.

Polish aircraft take-off

- Poland, alongside its allies, has for the first time in the past month employed pairs of fighter jets on duty in response to what Warsaw called "Russian activity," the Polish Armed Forces Operational Command said in a post on X.
