BEIRUT, November 23. /TASS/. The Israeli army hit residential buildings in the city of Khan Yunis in the south of the Gaza Strip, the Al Jazeera TV channel reported.
According to its information, five buildings came under fire. At least 15 people were killed. Several people are reported missing.
On November 22, the Palestinian movement Hamas announced that with the mediation efforts of Egypt and Qatar it had reached an agreement with Israel for a four-day humanitarian ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. According to Hamas official Mousa Abu Marzouk, the ceasefire will take effect on November 23 at 10:00 local time (8:00 a.m. GMT).
Tensions flared up again in the Middle East on October 7 when Hamas militants staged a surprise attack on Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip, killing residents of Israeli border settlements and taking over 200 hostages, including women, children and the elderly.
