Lukashenko: West created monster called Nazi Germany, now is raising another in Ukraine
History repeats itself, Belarusian President said
MINSK, July 2. /TASS/. Western Europe first brought up a monster called Nazi Germany, and is now raising a new one in Ukraine, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said on Saturday at a gala meeting on the eve of Belarus’ Independence Day.
"Just as it was in the last century, behind all those processes is the same civilized Western Europe that first raised a monster called Nazi Germany and then, in order to survive, threw itself into the arms of those who it had wished the defeat before," Lukashenko said cited by BelTA news agency.
"History repeats itself. A monster is being raised in Ukraine," he said adding that there are attempts to create "an image of the adversary" out of Belarusians.
According to the Belarusian president, not only is new Nazism rearing its head, but it has risen in full force, which can be seen in the geopolitical appetites of Belarus’ western neighbors.
Lukashenko pointed out that both Europeans and Americans are accustomed to using others to do the job.
"But later, when this Nazism goes around to them, either from Ukraine or other places, they will have to fight brutally - and maybe even more fiercely than Russia is battling it now in Ukraine - at their home, on their land. In Germany, France, the UK and Spain. I am tempted to ask: Have you really forgotten how it was eight decades ago? Eyewitnesses are still alive, and much has been written about it, so read it," the president said.
