World would like to know what US biolabs in Ukraine were doing — Kremlin spokesman
This issue is of great importance, Dmitry Peskov pointed out
MOSCOW, March 9. /TASS/. The Kremlin hopes that efforts to shed light on the operation of US laboratories in Ukraine will be successful. The whole world would like to know what exactly they were doing there, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday.
"This issue is of great importance, of course. Possibly, it is important to the whole world. It is to be hoped that it will be possible to shed light on the activity of these facilities in Ukraine, which in fact were run by US specialists," Peskov told the media. "Apparently, the whole world would like to have an idea what these facilities’ tasks were."
Earlier, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said that in the course of Russia’s special military operation evidence was obtained the regime in Kiev had urgently eliminated all traces of the US Department of Defense-funded military biological program in Ukraine. He said Ukrainian laboratories’ staffers testified that on February 24 a number of extremely dangerous pathogens of plague, anthrax, cholera and other deadly diseases were urgently disposed of.
Later, a US official confirmed the existence of biological research facilities in Ukraine.
