Three TASS reporters detained in Minsk when covering protests
All TASS correspondents had received the Belarusian Foreign Ministry’s accreditation to work in Minsk
MINSK, October 11. /TASS/. Three TASS correspondents - Natalya Fedosenko, Gavriil Grigorov and Valery Stepchenkov - were detained when covering protests in Minsk.
According to the correspondents, riot police placed them in a bus on Victors Avenue and took them to the Sports Palace. Later they were taken in another vehicle to a district office of the internal affairs.
All TASS correspondents had received the Belarusian Foreign Ministry’s accreditation to work in Minsk.
Another TASS reporter Yuri Shamshur was also detained along with three correspondents of BelaPAN news agency and a photo correspondent of Novy Chas Belarusian newspaper when covering the events in Minsk.
Later three TASS correspondents - Fedosenko, Grigorov and Stepchenkov - were released. However, two of them - Grigorov and Stepchenkov - were again detained on Victors Avenue.
