Israeli military helicopters deliver air strikes on southern Syria
The Syrian state-run agency did not report any casualties after the air strikes stating only that "the damages were restricted to materials"
MOSCOW, May 1. /TASS/. Israeli Air Force helicopters delivered missile strikes on the southern parts of Syria, SANA news agency reported on Friday.
According to the agency, the air strikes were delivered around midnight on Thursday from the Golan Heights aiming at targets located about 40 kilometers (some 25 miles) to the southwest of the Syrian capital of Damascus.
The Syrian state-run agency did not report any casualties after the air strikes stating only that "the damages were restricted to materials."
Syrian radio broadcaster Sham FM reported that five missiles were fired by Israeli helicopters on sites in southern Syria.
SANA reported earlier in the week that the Syrian military intercepted on Monday Israeli airstrikes aimed at the Palmyra area in the east of the Homs governorate. Al Mayadeen TV channel reported at that time that Israeli planes attempted to strike military facilities north of the Palmyra airport.
On January 15, Israel's Air Force carried out a missile attack against Syria by attacking the T-4 military aerodrome from the Al-Tanf region bordering Jordan and Iraq. The area houses a US military base.
On March 31, Syrian missile defense units repelled an airstrike at the Shayrat military airfield some 38 km east of Homs. The attack was carried out from the Lebanese airspace.
