Russia detects 37,120 COVID-19 cases over 24 hours, crisis center says

MOSCOW, November 20. /TASS/. Russia has registered 37,120 new confirmed COVID-19 infections over the past 24 hours with the total number of infections reaching 9,294,188 cases, the anti-coronavirus crisis center told reporters on Saturday. According to the crisis center, the relative increase of new infections is at the level of 0.4%.

In the past 24-hour period, 3,239 new cases were uncovered in Moscow, along with 2,637 new infections in St. Petersburg and 1,885 infections in the Moscow Region. Also, during this timeframe, 1,762 new cases were discovered in the Samara Region, 997 cases - in the Krasnodar Region, and 886 new cases were detected in the Republic of Crimea. All in all, at present, 1,038,919 patients are still undergoing treatment in Russia.

The number of COVID-19 fatalities in Russia over the past 24 hours has increased by 1,254. In all, 262,843 patients died of the infection. According to the crisis center, the provisional lethality of the disease (the final one can be determined only after the end of the epidemic) has remained at the level of 2.83%.

Over the past 24 hours, 93 fatalities were registered in Moscow, 75 - in St. Petersburg, 72 fatalities - in the Krasnodar Region, 61 fatalities - in the Moscow Region, and 40 fatalities were recorded in the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

The number of coronavirus patients discharged over the past 24 hours in Russia has increased by 36,172. In all, 7,992,426 patients have recovered. According to the crisis center, the total share of recoveries to date has increased to the level of 86% of the total COVID-19 case tally in Russia.

Having recovered, in a day 6,487 patients were discharged in Moscow, 4,177 patients - in St. Petersburg, 1,937 patients - in the Moscow Region, 1,254 patients - in the Krasnodar Region, 988 patients - in the Samara Region, and 885 patients were discharged in the Republic of Crimea.
